Local food distibutor to hold job fair

Here’s some promising news for those worried about the job market: A local food distributor is holding a job fair to fill about 55 positions in their new distribution center.

Golden State Food, an exclusive distributor for McDonald’s – and more than 20,000 other restaurants, according to its Web site – is holding the job fair this Saturday. The company is hiring Class A CDL drivers, warehouse personnel, and administrative staff.

Scheduled to open this summer, the distribution center in Garner will create about 225 new jobs and serve 532 McDonald’s restaurants, according to the company’s news release. While most of these positions have been filled, 55 or so slots are still open.
