Stretch of U.S. 401 near Wake Tech to close Friday morning

The N.C. Highway Patrol will close a portion of U.S. 401 near Wake Tech for 30 minutes Friday, April 24 to allow Progress Energy to run power transmission lines across both lanes of the highway.

The road is expected to be closed between 9:30-10 a.m. State Highway Patrol and N.C. Department of Transportation will assist with a detour and traffic control around the project.

Traffic will be detoured along Ransdell Road (SR 1392) and Donneybrook Road (SR 1053) before being directed back onto U.S. 401.

Wake Tech traffic from the north will turn left onto Old McCullers then right onto Tech Road.
