Water main installation slows traffic on Hwy 50

Those driving on Hwy 50 these past couple of days might have noticed congestion — not to mention workers and large pipes — between Buffaloe and New Bethel Church roads. The slowed traffic is related to the installation of a water main for the Dempsey E. Benton water treatment plant, located at Hwy 50 and Buffaloe Road.

Those involved in the project say that it should be finished by the end of July and that contractors will be working between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
