Garner senior killed in vehicle crash

A male Garner Magnet High School senior was killed in a motor vehicle accident early last night in Johnston County. School officials and the North Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed the death this morning. Neither has released the teen’s identity while they notify the family.

The two-vehicle accident occurred at 7:16 p.m. last night on Old U.S. 70 in Clayton between Old Shotwell Road and Clemmons State Forest. Grief counselors for students and staff are at the school today, according to officials.

An incident report will be available later this afternoon, said Patti McQuillen, public information officer for the North Carolina Department of Crime Control and Public Safety.
