Betty Altman Matthews, 70
Betty Altman Matthews, 70, died Sunday, July 19. Altman was born in Harnett County.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert G. Matthews; daughter Jill M. Howard (and husband Frank) of Clayton; grandsons Trey and Dylan Howard; sister Peggy Mangum; and brothers Richard and Danny Altman. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Hilda Atman; sister Shirley Thompson; and brothers Thomas, James and Randy Altman.
Altman was a retired employee of Winn-Dixie Warehouse where she worked for more than 40 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 22 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Flowers are appreciated, and donations may be made to Hospice of Wake County at 1300 St. Mary’s St. in Raleigh. Condolences may be sent to bryan-leefuneralhome.com.
