Current Garner Council member Gra Singleton has filed for re-election this fall. Singleton has served four terms on the Council, beginning in 1993.

Singleton owns locally-based JGS Communication, a business that leases ATM machines to vendors across the state.

Newcomer Amaka Flynn has also announced her intention to run for Garner’s Town Council. Flynn has lived in Garner for more than eight years with her husband and two children. She has recently served on the Aversboro Elementary PTA, the Wake County School Board District 2 Advisory Board and the Garner Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. She filed on July 17.

Two more newcomers — Arnie Osborn and Mona F. Parks — filed as candidates on July 16 and July 17, respectively.

Last week, current Council member Kathy Behringer filed as a candidate.

Two seats on the Town Council are up for election this fall.  Municipal elections will be held on Nov. 3.
