Ruth Britt O’Quinn, 81, died Sunday, July 5.

O’Quinn was born in Hartnett County and was the daughter of the late Ambrose Jerome Britt and Leola Phipps Britt.

O’Quinn was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeremy Bass, and is survived by her husband, Tom O’Quinn; daughter Judi O’Quinn Cartrette (and husband Eddie) of Fuquay-Varina; son Ron O’Quinn (and wife Pat) of Raleigh; grandchildren Brandon O’Quinn, Susan Cartrette Brugler; Sharon Cartrette and Stacy Cartrette; great-grandchildren Juliana Cartrette, Curtis Brugler, Nolan Brugler and Emily Brugler; brother Mac Britt of Baltimore, Md.; sister-in-law Judy Veum of San Antonio, Texas; and special friends Nathan and Lettie Ray.

The family received friends Tuesday, July 7 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church. Funeral services followed, and entombment was at Montlawn Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew’s UMC Building Fund or the Stephen Ministry Fund at 1201 Maxwell Drive in Raleigh.
