Beginning this Friday, all admissions at the United Artists Towne Square 10 theater, part of Carolina Cinemas, will be $2 — all shows, every day.

“The conversion of the Towne Square 10 to $2 cinema will fill a void in the market,” Carolina Cinemas owner Bill Banowsky said. “There is currently only one discount admission theater in the Raleigh area. Today most local filmgoers must spend more than $9 per person for a night out at the movies. That will change on August 7.”

While Towne Square 10 ticket prices are coming down, the service and facilities are not. Carolina Cinemas remains dedicated to providing its patrons with the same theater experience it has provided for years at Towne Square 10: great movies in a high-quality and clean venue.

“We intend to deliver value cinema in the same high-quality environment that people have come to expect at the Towne Square 10,” Banowsky said.

In addition to the $2 prices, Towne Square 10 will offer a $1 popcorn special all day Saturday, Aug. 8. Opening weekend movies will include: “Monsters vs. Aliens,” “Angels and Demons,” “Imagine That,” “17 Again,” “Star Trek,” “Land of the Lost,” “Year One” and “Wolverine,” among others.
