Rotary President Chuck Killian and other Rotarians helped raise money for scholarships. They were on hand to serve freshly brewed coffee to the java seekers and to encourage them to support the worthy cause.

Vida Rollins, owner of the coffee shop, gave support to the cause by providing the venue and the staff. She also donated tips and a percentage of the gross receipts for the day to the club. The Mid-Day Rotary Club is hoping to raise $5,000 for Garner-area students, Killian said.

“[We’re aiming for] wholesome support for the education of our children in Garner and to take a more active role in our schools and to let our educators know we appreciate them and that we value them in shaping our kids,” Killian said.

Anyone wishing to donate to the program or wanting more information may call Killian at 919-538-2855.
