Coleman currently serves as director of the Office of State Personnel and is a member of the Wake Tech Foundation Board of Directors. She was appointed to the Wake Tech Board by the Wake County Board of Education.

“[Coleman] brings very valuable knowledge and experience to the Wake Tech Board,” said Dr. Stephen Scott, president of Wake Tech. “Her extensive background in public service will be of vital importance — to our trustees as well as to administrators and faculty throughout the college — as we continue to grow and address the challenges of serving this community.”

Before her election to the House of Representatives, Coleman worked in human resources management at the N.C. Department of Agriculture and at the N.C. Department of Administration. She has worked as personnel director for the N.C. Community College System and as personnel analyst for the Office of State Personnel.

Coleman is a graduate of N.C. A&T State University and of the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.

Wake Tech is served by 12 trustees. Four are appointed by the governor, four by the Wake County Board of Commissioners and four by the Wake County Board of Education. Trustees establish policy, approve the annual budget and serve as advocates for Wake Tech and its programs and services.
