The town of Garner has Main Street on its mind — and hopes its residents do, too.
Next Monday, the town and the Garner Revitalization Association will host a Downtown Garner Public Planning Workshop. Citizens are invited to come out and give their input on the future of the historic downtown area.
“This is the opportunity for everyone who lives in Garner to let us know what they would like to see in their downtown,” said John Hodges, executive director of the GRA.
The project to revitalize downtown is already underway. Earlier this year, consultants identified retail, residential and commercial products that would benefit the area and act as catalysts for further development. This information, along with community input, will be used to create possible redevelopment designs.
“Understanding the community’s preferences will be a critical success factor to the Historic Downtown Garner Master Plan that we are developing,” Hodges said.
