Downtown Garner to see road detours, delays

The installation of new sewer lines is causing some street closures and detours in downtown Garner.

The City of Raleigh is installing the new sewer lines under Main Street from Montague to Benson Road. All residents and through traffic in this area will encounter some closures and detours.

The work, which began yesterday, is expected to last approximately six weeks in this location. It will be suspended for the town’s holiday events on Main Street on Dec. 4-5.

Businesses along Main Street will remain open during this time of construction.
