Lillian Broyles Deckard died Thursday, Nov. 19.

A funeral service was held Monday, Nov. 23 at First Baptist Church in Garner. Interment followed at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Clayton.

Born in Bristol, Tenn., on Oct. 23, 1924, to the late Clifton and Mary Peters Broyles, Lillian is survived by daughter Linda D. Sorrell (and husband Vic) of Bluefield, Va.; sons Jimmy Deckard (and wife Melva) of Bristol, Va., and Sammy Deckard (and wife Lisa) of Raleigh; sister Katherine Draper of Calhoun, Ga.; brothers Bob Broyles (and wife Marie) and Jim Broyles, both of Bristol, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James Franklin Deckard Sr. and daughter Sallie Deckard Pleasant.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Library Fund at First Baptist Church, 601 St. Mary’s St., Garner, NC 27529.
