The Garner-based Heart of Carolina chapter of Cowboys for Christ held a horse training clinic Saturday, Nov. 7 at the farm of N.D. and Linda Sauls on Jordan Road.

Expert clinician Morgan Dillard Harris from Warrenton, N.C., demonstrated professional techniques on a selection of horses brought to the event by local horse owners. A large audience enjoyed watching, asking questions and lunching on barbecue while listening to old-fashioned gospel music.

The local chapter of Cowboys for Christ, headed by president Cliff Lee, plays an active role in the Triangle horse community by sponsoring clinics, organizing trail rides and assisting with the Garner Magnet High School Equestrian Club. Helping people enjoy their horses without fear or injury, as well as sharing their Christian faith, is a main goal of the organization.
