The following incident reports were released by the Garner Police Department between Nov. 11 and Nov. 17:

Burglaries

Burglars broke into four commercial storage units at 309 Hwy 70 East Monday, Nov. 16, according to police. They stole 15 high-definition DVR satellite boxes and a Mongoose bike, totaling $3,500. Authorities do not have any description of the suspect or suspects. Burglars disabled an on-site security camera, police said.

Authorities have charged three teenagers with burglarizing the office of Westchester Apartments at 905 Seventh Ave. around 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13. Dereace Qundan White, 19, of Raleigh; Francisco Poncho Viviano, 17, of Raleigh; and Desmond Lashon Scarboro, 20, of Garner were arrested in connection with the case. Nothing was stolen; $400 in damage was done to the office’s back door.

Local police responded to a report of a fifth grader displaying a knife to two other students on a bus at East Garner Elementary School Thursday, Nov. 12. No one was hurt in the incident, and all the students involved are juveniles. No charges are being sought against the suspect, police said. The bus driver informed the principal about the weapon, authorities said. The school is handling the matter internally.

Thefts from motor vehicles

Someone reportedly stole $2,800 in cash from the Garner EMS station at 990 Vandora Springs Road at about 8 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17. The victim discovered the money was missing at the end of the shift. It was unsecured under a bunk bed, police said.

Motor vehicle thefts

Harnett County authorities have arrested two young men they say stole a rental car from outside Hardee’s in Garner at 100 Vandora Springs Road between 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 and 2 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14. Demetri Gist, 18, of Wake County was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and attempted larceny. He is in the Harnett County jail in lieu of a $21,000 bond. Brandon Lee Johnson, 16, was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. He is being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond. The car was recovered in Harnett County later on Nov. 14 when a sheriff’s deputy observed the two suspects getting gas. Police say the 67-year-old victim noticed her keys were missing while still at the restaurant. Without a spare, she called someone to pick her up, informed police and reportedly went home. A few hours later, a police officer who was monitoring the car saw it was missing from the parking lot and reported it stolen.
