District 2 school board candidate Cathy Truitt, who did not officially withdraw her candidacy and whose name will appear on the ballot Nov. 3, says that she will serve if elected.
“It may be improbable that I’m elected, but if I am, I will take the oath and serve,” she said. “I made that commitment to the children.”

Meanwhile, Truitt’s opponent, John Tedesco, is imploring voters to get to the polls on Nov. 3.
“This race is not over,” he wrote Friday in an e-mail to supporters.
