Christie Victoria Kent, 79, of Garner died Thursday, Nov. 26.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 12 at Holland’s United Methodist Church, where she was an active member.

Born Aug. 3, 1930, in Daniel’s Park, Md., the daughter of Charles and Florence Richardson, she is predeceased by brother Lester T. Richardson and sister Virginia E. Miller.

Christie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ronald Kent. She is also survived by sons Bruce Kent (and wife Nicki) of Due West, S.C., Mike Kent (and wife Deena) of Boone and Jeff Kent (and wife Tracy) of Westminster, Md.; sister Ellen Bryant of Farnham, Va.; goddaughter Lynne Kennedy of Garner; and many other devoted nieces and nephews. Christie was very proud of her three sons and 10 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Centers of North Carolina, 4101 Macon Pond Rd., Raleigh, NC 27607.
