Garner’s youth basketball season kicks off

The Parks and Recreation Department’s youth basketball season began Tuesday, Jan. 5 at Avery Street Recreation Center. In a battle of cats, the Tigers beat the Wildcats in the Mite Competitive League opener for each team.

Play continues through March. Visit the department’s Web site at GarnerParks.org for information about other basketball leagues, including the new high school league, which is currently registering teams.
