Garner’s Town Council met for nearly two hours behind closed doors tonight to discuss possible incentives to keep the ConAgra plant and lure two prospective economic development projects.

After the meeting, the town issued a brief statement saying officials took “no formal action” on any of the projects.

“Should any of these industries decide to select Garner and receive incentives, we will conduct public hearings and take a vote in a public forum,” said Mayor Ronnie Williams in the statement.

The special meeting was announced earlier this week.
