Garner Police Department swears in new officers

Police Chief Brandon Zuidema oversaw the swearing in of Garner’s newest officers Friday, Jan. 21 — a first for the new chief. Preston Moore Charles of Windsor and returning veteran officer Bert Walker were welcomed on board by a good-sized crowd of well-wishers and fellow officers.

Deputy Chief Eric Copeland administered the oath to the newest addition to Garner’s finest. After the swearing in, Zuidema outlined the importance of the job the new officers would be performing and stressed the integrity, honor and commitment the officers would assume with their new duties.
