In honor of Black History Month, the Garner Parks and Recreation Department has joined with the nonprofit group God’s International Mission for a performance Saturday, Feb. 27.

The mission’s performance dancers will tell stories through song and dance. The performance will incorporate African rhythms, drums, dances and costumes to portray the various regions of the African continent.

The performance will take place at the Garner Historic Auditorium at 742 W. Garner Road at 4 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for children. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the mission’s work to feed, clothe, house, educate and provide medical treatment to orphaned and abandoned African children.
