To Allison Backhouse of Apex,

It is likely you won’t read this because I am 99.9 percent sure that you do not read The Garner Citizen, much less subscribe to it. But please refrain from flinging your manure to this corner of the county.

We are not some country bumpkins incapable of thinking for ourselves. Garner citizens love God, family, country and community, and though we may disagree from time to time on various issues, we are quite adept at having rational and respectful discussions regarding those issues. We do not need your Wake Schools Community Alliance “bleeding” all over Garner.

So please go back to your own community, where you can gripe all day about how we don’t know how to drive in the snow, and leave us alone. While you are surrounded by bookstores and the Eva Perry Library, we here on the other end of the income spectrum are fighting to keep our library open. Perhaps you could volunteer to give up your library in exchange for community schools?
