Retired DMV Employee Wins Car—Again

Garner resident Cecil Hicks Stephenson won the North Carolina Education Lottery’s latest “Get Truckin’” contest and received a brand new 2008 Ford F-150 Lariat pickup truck. But this isn’t the first vehicle Stephenson has won.

Aversboro Road Elementary Open Doors of New Facility

Incoming Aversboro Road students will be the first group to attend class in the school’s brand new building. The original building, built in the mid 1960s, has been replaced by open and bright facilities.

Program Rebuilds Homes, Neighborhood, and Lives

Operation Restoration brings together people from the neighborhood and from different denominations to do home repairs in downtown Garner. Recently, 60 olunteers grabbed hammers and nails, and lifted, pulled, and sweated for a good cause.
